Relationships between tables are listed as one to many and many to many and
one to one.  What if they are related without one  of these chosen?  What
happens to the text.

If you don't specify a relationship type, Access will try to guess. If there
is a unique index on the field(s) on one side of the relationship only, then
the relationship can only be one-to-many. If there are unique indexes on
both sides of the relationship, the relationship can only be one-to-one.
Otherwise, the relationship will be 'indeterminate' and you will not be able
to enforce referential integrity on that relationship.

I'm not sure what you mean by "what happens to the text" (what text?) but
basically, if the relationship is indeterminate, referential integrity can
not be enforced, and as far as I am aware nothing happens - to the best of
my knowledge a relationship that does not have referential integrity
enforced does nothing.

being read. Follow-up questions should in general be posted to the
newsgroup, but if you have a good reason to send me e-mail, you'll find
a useable e-mail address at the URL above.
