Hi Everyone,

I need to set up a delete query that will delete records
that have the same values in a combination of fields
however leaving one of them not deleted, so If I have
five records with the same purchase_date, cust_id and
sales_rep, it will delete four records leaving me with
just one. Working with pretty bad data here!

have no idea how to do this so would very grateful for
anybodys help.

Cheers
Mike

Hi,

My name is Amy Vargo.  Thank you for using the Microsoft Access Newsgroups.

You can use the steps in the following article to create a table with just
one occurrence of each record that is unique according to the fields you
specify as the primary key.

209183 ACC2000: How to Delete Duplicate Records from a Table

I hope this helps!  If you have additional questions on this topic, please
respond back to this posting.
