I've got some data I'd like to import (never imported data before in access).
The field names are the same - first name, last name email, etc. But when I
go to import it into a pre-existing table I get an error. All it says is 'An
error occurred trying to import file .... The file was not imported.

Can someone help, please.

Thanks!
Jenny

Try importing into new table and then copy data to your table. Usually
there are empty cells in your Excel file, while Access (sometimes by
user design of a table) does not allow empty fields to be imported.
