Disappearing Objects

I must have done something wrong here.  I have a very simple database, just
one table.  I made a form for it, and a query just to test out the query
thing yesterday.  Now when I open it up, there is nothing under "Tables",
other than the usual "Create Table in Design View...Create Table by using
Wizard...Create Table by entering data".  However, the form is still there,
and I can still go through all the entries.  When I right-click on the form
and go to "Object Dependencies," I can see the table and click on it to get
to it.  Why isn't it showing up in the "Tables" window?

Also, the query I created yesterday is completely gone, but I'm less worried
about that.

It may be that you hid the objects.
From the main menu, select Tools, Options and select the View tab
Check the Hidden Objects under Show.  Now see if your table and query show up.

If they do, right click on the object in the database window and select
Properties and uncheck the Hidden property.

Thanks for the idea, didn't work though.  Any other possibilities?

Possible corruption.
Try a decompile and a compact and repair.  If that doesn't cure it. you may
want to create a new database and copy the objects from the suspisous one.

Here is a link to info on the decompile:

Brilliant, that worked, thanks.  Any way to make sure that doesn't happen
again, or was it just bad luck?

Just bad luck.  No way to prevent it from happening again.  the only solution
is keep backups.
