How do I delete unwanted email addresses & variations of my contacts' names?

When I open a new message window and type in a contact's first initial
I get a list of email address options:

Example:  Enter M

1.  mail@abcdefg.org  this would an address I used from a website.  It
now appears every time I hit the M key for my contact Mary.  Yet I cannot
delete it because I cannot find it in any location i.e. address book/contact
list.

2.  Mary SomethingOrOther is the way I have my contact's name in my contact
list BUT
whenever I hit the M key I get several options:
   Mary SomethingOrOther
   SomethingOrOther, Mary
And I cannot delete these extraneous names under FULL NAME in my address
book.

3.  When I hit the S key for Stephanie McFriend I get the option for
SomethingOrOther, Mary
and Stephanie McFriend.  Very, very annoying.

This is a pain in the you-know-what because with XP I would hit M and Mary's
email
address automatically appeared and when I hit S Stephanie's email address
appeared.  And when
I emailed someone from their website and the address appeared later in my
address book I could
go in and delete that one time only contact.

Now I have to stop tabbing and typing to pick up the mouse in order to
choose from a list generated
by the MS address/contact program rather than the way I entered the names in
MY contact list.

They all lead to the same address so why the redundancy.

Help me to delete unwanted email addresses hiding in my address book and
deleted unwanted
variations of my contacts' names.

Lisa,
This newsgroup deals with Microsoft Access, a relational database
development application.
You best bet is to post this question to the appropriate newsgroup for
your email application (ex. Outlook, Outlook Express, etc...)
