When attempting to add a new record to the database a message popped up
saying that the record couldn't be saved because one of the fields was set to
required and it had not been included on the form. I went back and set the
required to no and checked the other fields. Now I can't get rid of the
message and I can't add a record?

Check the table or tables the form is linked to.  Go to the design mode of
the table, and review each field in the table.  Look below to the "Required"
and Indexed options.  There must be one or more of these set to "Required"
