I'm trying to compact and repair my database. I keep receiving the message
"TempMSysAccessObjects" already exists. How can I compact and repair if I
keep getting this message?
Thanks.
Doesn't sound good. First and foremost make a complete backup of your
database and put it safely away. Now.
Make sure that the folder holding the database file allows you to have read,
write, create and delete privileges. C&R temporarily needs to make a copy of
the database then delete it. If it can't, problems happen.
Next if it's a multi-user database, kick everyone off. Then reboot your
computer for good measure.
Try it again. If it does not work, try using the Jetcomp.exe utility that
may be on your computer. If not, you can download it from:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/295334
Jetcomp actually does a much better job of compacting and repairing.
If it still doesn't work, there might be a corruption problem. Were you
repairing due to an error message by chance? Below is info on corruption.
Tony Toews has an excellent web page on database corruption.

Allen Brown also has excellent info on corruption.

I have a white paper in a Word document named Fix Corrupt Access Database
