Outlook Contact Activities and MS Access?

I have a button on a customer form that sends a message to the customers
email address.  When I click the button a new Outlook 2003 message opens
with the email address filled in.  Very nice.

If the customer happens to be in my outlook contacts I can view a log of
emails sent by looking at the activities tab for that contact.

Is there a way to automatically update Outlook 2003 contacts from my
customer table in Access 2003?  or  Would I be better off just using Access
for contact info and logging the messages sent in some type of table in
Access?  The latter seems like a better solution in the long run.

I have created a Customer log table to track contacts like phone calls,
visits, etc.  Can someone point me to resources on how to populate it
automatically for emails sent?  Maybe even letters sent with Word 2003?

Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure how to update Outlook from Access but if your considering
switching your contact lists and call log information to Access there is a
great call log manager template available for download on the MS Office
website under templates.  I had a similiar situation to what you described
and I have now completely switched over to Access except for the e-mail
sending component.  It is works far better for me and holds a lot more of the
information you described like messeges sent, and dates sent, and who sent to
etc. in a format that is easily made searchable and it's not to use simple
modifications to indicate forms of contact other than calls like fax, e-mail,
paged etc..  (note:)  I receive reports from an outside source to dictate who
I need to call so I'm not dependent upon Outlook's reminder feature or
scheduled alarms).

Hope that helps you out some even if it's not directly answering your
question.

Thanks!  I'll look for the template.
