In earlier versions ( word 97) Using the track changes feature I was able to
leave a marker in the right menu without showing the strike through feature.
Now, using Word 2002, I do not appear able to do this anymore. Help

This is not a WORD newsgroup.  This is an ACCESS newsgroup.

Suggest you re-post your question in one of the relevant newsgroups for
Microsoft Word.  This is the newsgroup for Microsoft Access (a database
application) and not general "access".
