I've created a new database form in Access 97. Now I want to save that
form "template"
and take it over to another computer where I will actually input all the
data. I have a floppy in the drive to save to.

Trouble is Access will not let me do it. I go to File | Save As/Export |
SaveAs "to an external file or database" | OK | click Export

I get an error "Microsoft Access can't find the database file
A:\Table1.mdb"

Where am I going wrong?

Thanks,
George

Create a blank database on the floppy before you export.

You can't save a FORM.  You would need to save the entire database and then
use it at another computer.

Well, if I have a new database with no records as yet can I save this and then
open it on the second computer and do all the work over there?

How would I do it?

Since you are using a floppy to move the form I'm assuming the
two computer aren't networked. Just export the form to the blank
database on the floppy then take the floppy to the other computer
open the database you want to use and do get external data, navigate
to the database on the floppy and import the form.

Got it to work, finally.

Had to save/export the Tables (Table 1) first and then go to Forms and save/export
(Table 1) also there. When I just saved under Forms I got an error on the other
machine saying Access could not find this or that and then it closed down.

Thanks!
