can't export data into access database

Hi guys.
I have been trying to export data from a linked ODBC table into an access
table. The only problem is that my source table has around 280,000 records in
it, and when I try exporting it, I get an awful lot of "Rows dropped due to
worksheet row limit" messages - a whole table full of them in fact!
Can anybody tell me a way round this problem? Surely Access 2000 doesn't
have a 65,000 record limit?

TIA,
Haji

"worksheet row limit" is not a term I'm familiar with from Access.  Is there
a chance that Excel is involved?

You're quite right! I initially tried to to export my data into excel, but
this didn't work. I then tried to export my data as an access database, and
it was only after I did this that I noticed the table full of error reports
and mistakenly assumed it was to do with my second attempt.

If you're still with me (!), it seems what I really need is a way to export
the data contained in my linked ODBC table, as Excel couldn't handle it, and
my attempt to export it as an access database seems to have created another
linked table, which is exactly what I don't want.

If you have any ideas I'd be most grateful

TIA, haji

"export from" and "import to" are related, but use different products.

Are you saying you want an exact copy of some data that is not in Access to
be in Access (an "import", rather than a "link")?  If so, are you
comfortable with then having two copies of the same data -- a risk!

You can open an Access database, use File | Get External Data | Import ...
to import a copy of data.  You will need to have a data source name (DSN)
created to use an ODBC source.
