Latency Dropdown Control

I'm experiencing 10-second latency when selecting records from a dropdown on
a combo box.  The Row/Source type is a local table that has numerous indexed
fields.  This latency ONLY occurs during hte first selection after I open the
form.  Subsequent selections process quickly (1-2 seconds).

Is there some sort of indexing going on during the first time that I select
from the dropdown?  Possible to reduce this latency?

Thanks in advance.

You can run code in the On Open event like:
Private Sub Form_Open(Cancel As Integer)
   Dim intComboCount As Integer
   intComboCount = Me.cboYourCombo.ListCount
End Sub
