How to get information of Hardwares thru code?

Hi;
I need an API to get some hardware informations such as Serial No. of Hard
disk ,MainBoard and so on.Can anyone please help me?

Dear Mike,
I couldnt find the thing im looking for,there.If im wrong,can you please
send me an example to get a Serial Number from my hard disk drive?I will be
so much grateful to you.

It doesnt work in VBA or need to install and make a reference to something
(maybe MDAC).
AFAIR it can be done simply thru a Win API.am i right?
Any comments ?

WMI is already on machines of W2k and up and can be added to Win98 >  and NT4.
It is a free download from Microsoft.
