I have a form with one main field at the top [name] then I've use the
tab-control to create many "pages" on the form.

I need the [name] field to be frozen so users can't change it, so I set the
text box property locked to "Yes".  The problem is that when I open the form
it starts in the name field.  When I hit the tab-key, Access advances to the
next record.  Users want the tab-key to go to the first field on Page1.  Is
there a way to do that?  I can make this work if I change enabled to NO, but
then I can't filter-by-form on the [name] field.   <I am finding that I can't
apply a filter to a field where enabled=NO>

So I'm needing to know how to make the keyboard tab-key go from the text box
above the tabbed-pages and jump into the first field on the first page - and
not advance to the next record.

This has been a 4-hour head-scratcher.  Good luck.

Thanks for your reply & assistance.

You can also set the Tabstop property of the textbox to No.
