I have a subform included in my main form.  One of the fields in the subform
is linked to the master table.  I'd like to be able to make "new" entries
into the subform field that will automatically update the main table.  How
can I do that?  Also, I am not a programmer and use the available tools in

Pearl,
What do you mean by "updating the Main form?"  Do you mean a calculation
on the main form (regarding the subform), or are you actually setting the
values of bound controls in the Main form's table?

Please describe in more detail what you're trying to do.
What fields are involved in the sub, and the main, and give some
examples of what you have vs what you want to achieve.

Sorry for not being clear.  What I am looking to do is not only use the
subform field to auto populate an entry but if I have an entry that is not in
the list I can just enter it directly into the field and then it will
populate the backend table (the one I call the Master Table from which the
field is based....a lookup field).  Is that possible or do I have to exit the
form and go to the table and make the new entry so that I can then go back
into the form to select the entry?
