Hello and thanks.

I have one text field with a control(?) label amongst many that just won't
let the user past without entering something. The other text boxes with
labels can be blank, but this one just refuses to let it be blank. I've gone
through and compared it to other text boxes and their labels and can't find
what it is that would cause it to be so obstinate :)

I would like any field to be left blank, especially this one. Am I missing a
setting somewhere?

Assuming this is a bound text box (i.e. it's linked to a field in the form's
recordsource), take a look at whether the field has been designated as
Required in the table to which it belongs.
