How do you change it back? Shouldn't you make a copy of the form first?

If you open the form in design view, you can make changes to any of the
properties of any of the controls. This Allow Design Changes property applies
only to opening the form in Form view. I always set it to "design view only" -
users should generally not have the option of changing any and all properties
of any and all controls, and the properties window just gets in the way.

change it back? You open the form in design view. and turn it off or
on as before. It just hides the properties menu when in normal mode.
You should never have the properties menu available in normal mode,
and what reason was used by the developers to allow it to be visible
in normal mode is beyond reason.
