How do I turn off the record selector on a subform?

I tried double clicking the form properties and changing the record selector
to "no", but it still shows up.  I have a subform with several tabs and on
some tabs I do not want the record selector bar to display.  Any ideas?

Set the Navigation Buttons property to No.
