Still have a problem that I can't solve.

In my form I have two subforms and each subform has a single combo box with
a not in list event code. The problem is that one lets me enter new
information
and the other does not. I get the following message:

"A problem occured while Microsoft Access was communicating with the OLE
server or ActiveX Control"

If it is happening to one, why not the other as well?

I have compiled and compacted.

Try creating another ComboBox on the form and delete the one giving you
problems.

I deleted the subform and started again. I've now got it working. Seems like
such a strange solution.

It is what can happen if you do not Compact and Repair regularly.  There are
also some issues when you have Tools>Options>Name AutoCorrect turned On.  It
should be disabled.
Failures caused by Name AutoCorrect: http://allenbrowne.com/bug-03.html
