Query based form using a text control on the same form

I read the previous posts on controls not visible in form view and I am
having the same problem, but not sure how to fix it or what my options are.

The query the form is based on uses an unbound text control as a reference.
what I want is this: a form where the user enters into a text box to
retrieve data from a query.
