I have no coding attached to closing the form. The problem occurs just using
the "X" close button on a form because the switchboard form never closes.
Normally, I would hide or close the switchboard and reopen it when the called
form closes. This application is so small I did not think i needed to add
this code. Thanks for looking at this for me.
On the forms that I use, I place a command button which I call CLOSE that
allows the user to close the current form and return to the switchboard.
On the switchboard the last menu item on the Main menu I use for the user to
exit the application.

I normally do to. I am still baffled that it runs perfectly in my computer.
When I open access in the lap top, it does not look normal at all. The lap
top is running Office XP Pro, Access is 2002. I do not get see any way to
convert the application. I think the lap top may have a student version.
Could that be the problem?

Sorry, I do not know.
Just a thought try the following
1. You maybe missing some references in the Laptop version.
2. Create a new database call it TEST on the laptop do not use any wizards
then import your tables queries forms etc from your inventory database and
see if you have any problems.
3. Create an Inventory database using the wizards on your laptop and see if
it works.

I cannot get the lap top to show wizzards or even the standard tool bars.

Try View, Toolbars and seeing if the Database one is checked. Try
opening your database from within Access while holding down the Shift
key. This will bypass Startup settings if there are any or try View,
Startup and see if there are any toolbars/menus that are disabled (this
is with your database open in Access.)
