I've never been able to use Access on Window XP.
Now I would really need to use it, I cannot save the design or list data at
all.
I design my layout and save but it won't save it.
I close it and it shows the file name but it will not read it.
I have downloaded the patches and updates for Office 2000 when I got my XP
but it as never worked.
I have no problem with, "word", "front page", or "excel", just "access"

Hi, Dick.

You don't mention what error messages you are receiving when you attempt to
open the database, or save design changes, or save the file, so it's
difficult to help you troubleshoot the problem.  Without more to go on, I
can only recommend that you make sure that your Windows user account has
Windows security "Full control" permissions on the directory where the
Microsoft Access database file is located, and the file attribute is not set
to "Read only."

HTH.
