I am going to import a fixed width text file which is
prepared from other department's database. The text file
contains more than 40 fields that will be used as the raw
data for my database. What will be the best way to do it ?

Many Thanks.

Hi Siric,

Before you start importing the file, make sure you have a list of all
the fields it contains, with their starting points and widths.

During the import click the Advanced... button in the wizard and enter
the field information. Then save the result as an import specification
for future use.
