From Excel, get external data, new db query, when I select
a particular Access db on the network, I get the following
error "MsQuery has encountered a problem and needs to
close". If I copy the db to the harddrive, I do not get
the error. From the network, I've removed all internal
linked tables and basically stripped the db down but still
get the error. Network folks assure me this is not a
network security problem. I've also tried changing options
and properties on the db and still can't get this to work.
Any advise would be appreciated. thanks.

Have you tried the option "compact and repair"?

Make a copy of the DB (for backup)
Close the DB (NOT Access), "Options", "Database
Utilities", "Compact and repair DB".
