Hi - I import a text file which is saved as text and i need to convert that
text field in the table to a number field. Is it possible.?

if the only data in that field is numeric, then yes. you can set the data
type in the Import Specification; if you're importing the data to an
existing table, set the data type in the table's field to match the Import
Specification.
