I have been using the code in list in
http://www.mvps.org/access/api/api0001.htm  for Filedialog.  Is there a way
to have the Filedialog box open in preview?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
what do you mean "open in preview"?

I have created a database where I insert the path and filename of pictures
into a table and view them on a form.  I use FileDialog to get the filename
but it would be easier to preview the picture before it is selected.  There
is a drop down box that lists Thumbnails, Tiles, Icons, List, Details.  It
defaults to List.  I was hoping that I could have it default to Preview where
I can see the picture (larger than a Thumbnail)  I am guessing it has
soemthing to do with the code original written for Access 97.

If the preview option is not available, is there a way to have the file
dialog default to thumbnails when it opens?

Thanks

Rex

If any one is interested, I did check out the vb.winapi group and got a
response that helped me with this issue.  Juan M Afan de Ribera point to the
wesite http://www.mvp-access.com/accessvbafaq/item.asp?pagina=44.  The site
is in Spanish but it relatively easy to go through the code.  Thanks Alex for
pointing me in the right direction and thanks to Juan for the code.
