Creating a Runtime version of App that is an upgrade

I've finally started creating runtime versions of our Access application
using Access 2003 Developer. When I make a change to the database, do a new
build and go to install it on a machine that had a previous install, it won't
let me continue. I get a message saying that it is already installed, I then
have to remove the program and then reinstall it. I increase the version
number on each build. Is there a way of creating an upgrade for clients that
already have the runtime installed?

All  you need to do is replace the MDB or MDE: no reason for a complete
install package.

How do you create the MDB or MDE as a runtime version? Thought you needed to
create an install package to create a runtime version?

thanks,

The runtime is a crippled install of *Access* itself.  Once it is installed
with your original installation program you do not need to install it again.
All you need to do is replace your file with the new version and the runtime
that is already there will run it.
