I have 5 users using a database remotely. They all work from home and/
or out at the client. The never return to the main office which is
just someone's house.
We have set up a system to collect the data they are entering into the
system. I wanted a way to let them share lookup tables through the
internet. Does anyone know how this might be handled?
Also, does anyone have a good method for notifying the user that there
is an update? Right now the users update the system by downloading a
new version through FTP. I was hoping for a way that when they open
their version, it checks to see if there is a newer version.

Hi Rob,
I am not an Access expert but one of the things I constantly read from
experts is that you should never let the users see your tables. Tables are
easy to mess up. Instead, I am told to use forms, reports, and queries.
Forms are made to handle the information and they are much more flexible than
lookup tables.
I have not used this product, but it might be worth a try. I am very
impressed with the company that designed the program. The program is called
SSW Data Renovator and it enables you upgrade and change the tables in your
Back End. http://www.ssw.com.au/ssw/DataRenovator/
Hope it helps,
