I thought I'd have some luck with kb931361 but evidently the "compatibility mode" property is a dead end, as is the "run as administrator". The fix for Access 2003 runtime doesn't seem to apply to Access XP (delete the dbmsadsn.dll referrence from ospfilelist.txt).
