ART installation

I developed an Access 2002 application for my client. Some users have already
installed Access 2002 full version, some of them have eariler version
installed, while others have nothing installed. Therefore, I have to include
ART in the setup package. Of course, I create shortcut link for the
application using ART during installation.

But they do not want to install ART if full version Access or newer version
was installed, and the shortcut should be created using the full version
Access path instead of ART.

How can I do that? Thanks for any help.

I was under the impression that PDW would not install runtime if full Access
is already there, and the command line would be fixed automatically to
wherever MSACCESS is, if it's something like the following in the PDW.
"$(ARTFolder)\MSAccess.exe" /Runtime "$(AppPath)\MyApp.mdb"

Unfortunately, I can't verify this with A2002 at the moment. (too many errors
<gulp>)

This only applies if they have the same version of Access (2002). If they have
earlier or later Access, then ART2002 will be installed. This seems sensible,
because though there is some compatibility between Access versions from A2000
onwards, your app isn't necessarily designed or tested that way.

If the PDW has too many limitations for you, I believe www.sagekey.com or the
like provides "better" installations. But I believe it always installs ART, in
order to avoid versioning issues (e.g. if they already have full Access, how
do you know what SP level it's up to?)

(my main experience is PDW2000, I believe PDW2002 is similar)
