I need to deploy a split database at a different site, so the location of
the BE will be different than it is here in my development environment. Is
there any way to set the location of the BE during installaion?

I'm using MS Access 2003 and Visual Studio Tools for Office.

Thanks
Ken

You'd have to run some post install process wherein you'd pass the install
location and then relink the tables via script.  Or while installing the BE,
install a reg key that specifies the location and then relink in the FE
based on that reg key.

Is there some code that could run automatically whenever the database starts
up that senses whether or not the tables are linked and then allow me to
browse to the BE if they are not?

Thanks
Ken

Take a look at http://www.mvps.org/access/tables/tbl0009.htm at "The Access
Web" for one approach.
