I have put together a very simple database with 5 tables
and a couple of queries in Access 97.  When I converted
this to Access 2002 on one of my colleagues PC's
(networked), I kept getting the 'Out of MS-DOS File
Handles' when trying to run any of the two queries.

I believe file handles are no longer used so what could
this be?  Any ideas??

Out of MS-DOS file handles - error 3042 Microsoft Access
This is a strange problem caused by, of all things, security problems.
Ensure the permissions are read/write to the MDB.  Actually it should
really be read/write/delete for the entire directory otherwise the
permissions on the MDB itself will be lost when the MDB is compacted.
