Hello, i'm hoping someone can help me with this problem. I am compacting my access '03 database and its creating the db1 copy but the copy is not being deleted and my original database is not being compacted. the original reopens without any error messages but i can see the size has not changed which leaves me to believe it wasn't compacted. i'm hoping someone know how to fix this as my database is ballooning like you would not believe. thanks in advance! Check, if you have full NTFS access to the directory where your mdb is stored. Have you installed the Office Service Pack 2? Are you running any antivirus program? You have to uninstall the entire Office. And reinstall it.
