Can anybody tell me how to resolve this please?

We have one PC on which Access 97 crashes whenever a form
with a Calendar Control 8 on it is opened. As a test I
tried creating a new form in an empty database and as soon
as I dropped a calendar control onto it Access crashed.

The PC has Office XP on it but Access 97 (required for
compatibility with other computers).

I have tried a re-install of Office 97 but this hasn't
cured the problem.

Hi George,

I recommend getting rid of the MS Calendar control and going for an all code
or API and code version.  That way you avoid the referencing, licensing and
versioning issues that will arise over time.  Even the ones that are working
on your systems now may not work with other operating systems and
installations.

You can find calendar info on www.lebans.com and on www.mvps.org/access

I still use one I copied from the Access  2 Developer's Handbook by Ken Getz
et alia from Sybex.  They crank out a new edition for every major release of
Access and they're well worth having.

Thanks for the suggestion Larry but unfortunately it's not an option
for me. It's legacy stuff that we should have ditched ages ago but...
The database is one of several that are due to be integrated and moved
over to sql but for now I'm stuck with it.

It's an issue I have to resolve for one user/PC out of about 30 where
it works without any probs.

Just wondered if this was one that anyone had come across and resolved
before.

Try Sheridans website for a free download of retired Calendar Widgets, they
work fine with access97 and could be rejigged into your database forms
