This is the message I get when trying to import information
from an excel file containing business contacts(Office 2000
version if Access).
OS is XP Pro.
Also tried to open up a new Access database using the
Wizard - same message.
I tried everything on the recommended Article from
Microsoft - nothing works. What a huge waste of time!

Obviously Access 2000 isn't compatable with XP
- everything worked great with win 98 I got a lot of use
out of the program.

You need to register the DAO dll using regsvr32.
See following KB articles:

ACC2000: Error Message: ActiveX Component Can't Create Object

Thanks - I tried that once but it did not work (for
DAO360.dll), however I searched my hard drive for "DAO" and
found DAO350.dll in the same location. I put the following
in the "Run" command box and it seems to have worked!
regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft
Shared\DAO\DAO350.DLL"
