Dear all,

ive just installed Access97 on my new box thats running XP Pro. after
installation none of the activex controls will work because it says no
license. These are the standard controls like imagelist, progressbar etc...
and its driving me nuts? any idea whats going on?

The fact that an ActiveX control exists on your system does not entitle you
to use it or distribute it.  The error you are observing is expected and
normal.

Hi paul,

Looking at the microsoft website with regards to this problem it states
thats its because i installed the runtime version before i installed MS
Office. It said all i had to do was download the OdeOcxFx.exe program which
would restore the licenses. its a known problem with Office 97

The problem is now fixed.

P.s I was entitiled to use the standard controls supplied and its not
expected and normal.

FYI...the fix you cite applies to Office Developer.  Not Microsoft Office.
If you don't have Office Developer, you aren't legal.
