compport control

I'm not sure if this is the right group for this :

I would like to control a serial port from an asp page. I've looked on
usenet en internet but cannot find a good solution.

Idea:
When a button is pushed, a simple (predefined) string needs to be send
to a commport.
I can build all the fancy things around it but cannot get the basic
communication to work at the server side.

Any help greatly appreciated !

ASP?  I'd suggest asking in an ASP newsgroup as this newsgroup is for
MS Access support.
