Active X control installation problem

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me with the following problem.  I use XP
home and IE (though using Firefox was no help for this issue) so may or may
not be relevant.

My work allows us to access their servers remotely so we can work from home
from time to time.  Until about 2 months ago, I had no problems but having
tried again last week, the following message comes up when trying to access
their Terminal Services connection

"VBS Script Remote Desktop Connection Remote Desktop Web Connection Active
X control could not be installed.  A connection can not be made without a
working installed version of the control.  Please contact the server
administrator."

Our IT department have suggested possible causes but none of the suggested
solutions has worked.

1)  Any ideas why I dont see Microsoft RDP Client Control in the Internet
Options / Tools / General / Settings/ View Object ?  Does this matter?

2)  Why does Internet Options / Tools / Security now not allow the level to
be set less than Medium (we had previously discovered that this needed to
be set to Medium-Low to access the work servers)?  I am able to adjust the
individual settings manually but is the Security Level overriding?

Any other suggestions also appreciated.  Thanks for reading.

I think you're going to need to ask this in a newsgroup related to Internet
Explorer.

This newsgroup is for questions about using ActiveX controls with Access,
the database product that's part of Office Professional, not for general
questions about ActiveX controls.
