I need to incorporate a voice recording and playback capability into an
app I'm building (access 200x). I'm reviewing chapter 13 in the VBA
Developers Handbook which discusses using the mci capabilities offered
by windows. And that looks doable.

However I'm also interested in hearing about any alternate approaches
that work with Access. I'm exploring two activex control packages (NCT
AudioStudio and Lake of Soft VCX Library 2.1) that may or may not be
well behaved enought to work with Access. Any tried and true options to
recommend?

Hi Kiln -

This is Steven from Microsoft Access Technical Support replying to your
newsgroup post.

Basically, the Voice Recognition component that shipped with Office 2000 is
all that Microsoft officially supports in Access 2000. Unfortunately,
anything beyond that would be "best effort" on the developer's part.

Sincerely,
